Combining Unreal Engine Projects

Have you ever wanted to copy or move assets from one project to another?  That is easily accomplished by a process called migration, here's how to do it.

Start by opening the project with the assets you want transferred.  Once it's open, If you can't see the menu marked 1 press the button marked 2.

Next right click on the folder housing everything you want transferred, in my case I want everything so I right clicked on content then left clicked on migrate which is marked 3.
Next a window will pop up press OK marked 4.

a windows explorer window will pop up navigate to the content folder of the project you want the assets in by default the path to your projects content folder should be Documents\Unreal Projects\(your projects name)\Content my project is called empty. Once you are in the projects content folder left click the select folder button.

Then you are all set.

How to auto fix UVs in autodesk Maya

Hi there, have you ever used extrude on a polygon in maya and added segments rather than repeating the extrude however many times, and the uvs got screwed up and the texture looks stretched ?  Well let me tell you its happened far too often to me, but the other day I found a way to fix them automatically.

Step 1:

Select the object with the messed up uvs.

Step 2:

While in modeling mode, left click uvs in the menu at the top of the screen that starts with file it should be fifth from the right.

Step 3:

click automatic that should fix them.

my review of Unreal engine

I liked the fact that the UI is intuitive and that the coding is visual however, the materials and particle effects are very complicated and could use some simplification.I think a way to import particle systems from 3ds max  or maya would be pretty sweet. I actually prefer this engine over unity.

The Hololens

The Microsoft Hololens is basically a pair of glasses that augments the world around you and runs on windows.   I think it will be massively successful if it delivers on all it promises because the hype for this product is incredibly intense. I think the fact that you can be talking to someone on Skype while walking outside (while connected to a mobile hotspot) is pretty awesome.  Gaming will be lots of fun on the Hololens because it allows for mixed reality gaming where the game actually detects solid surfaces and interacts with them.  One really cool feature is the ability to place "holograms" on walls and interact with them.  If I was designing a game for the hololens I would make a sword fighting game and use the wearable hologram tech to make swords appear in your hands and make evil ninjas appear from puffs of smoke.

Competitive game review

Game Title: super smash Bros Wii U/ 3ds   Publisher:  Nintendo

Year:    2016  ESRB Rating:  E

Platform:   Wii U 3ds   Genre:  fighting

Fun Factor:    so-so because in PvP mode it is the person who strikes first that gets the win usually. And in PVE mode it is okay because there are nine different levels of difficulty that you can choose from

Learning Curve:   in the beginning when you just start out playing it's pretty easy but when you get further in the game it becomes incredibly difficult to play especially in PVP like I stated above.

Graphics: I think the graphics were excellent although it wasn't that different from brawl and level of detail.

Audio:   I liked how the music used was either original or remixed from games that intended has made in the past.

Controls:   I think the controls were fairly simple and easy to figure out.

Story:   Unlike Brawl there was no story and that kind of upset me because I was looking forward to enjoying a story.

Characters:   in my opinion the balance of power among characters was nonexistent some characters you had to deal massive amounts of damage to even send opponents flying even a little while bigger characters like Bowser are able to send characters flying without having to do very much damage first.

Level Design: The levels range from simple with no secrets to incredibly complex with many secrets to discover, I think it fit well with the learning curve, sounds, and music and I like how the levels were based upon certain games.

Changes:  add defensive movrs

Recommendation:  it depends on the person because some people are casual gamers and others are intense Gamers who like to be competitive to the Casual Gamer I would not recommend this but to the competitive gamer I would.

Trying to decide what type of 3D game to make/work on in my free time.

So I've wanted to make a game for a while now, but a few days after I come up with an idea I scrap it because I lose interest. So if anyone has a cool game idea they would like to see built post it in the comments.
